Lina Lieckfeld Joins VIMODROM Baskets Jena | 2nd DBBL

Lina Lieckfeld is joining Jena as a center

When a guard has the ball and Lina Lieckfeld sets the screen, she’s in her element. The center herself cites her ability to work with the guards—for example, in the pick-and-roll—as her greatest strength. Now the 24-year-old is bolstering the VIMODROM Baskets Jena in the 2nd DBBL South.

Lina is 1.83 meters tall and shoots right-handed. She was born on June 30, 2002, in Wolfenbüttel, and that’s where it all began. At age eight, she was already taller than most; she went to practice once and stuck with it. Since then, she has seen a lot of the German basketball scene: MTV Wolfenbüttel, ASC Göttingen, DJK Bamberg, TSV Wasserburg, New Basket Oberhausen, and LionPride Braunschweig are all listed on her resume. She celebrated her greatest athletic success in 2019 in the U.S., when she won the Alabama state championship with her high school team.

In Jena, she has set her sights on two things. She wants to take on more of a leadership role, and she wants to work on her three-point shot. For a center, that’s a goal that would open up her game from the paint all the way to the three-point line.

Off the court, Lina enjoys reading and going to the movies. Her favorite foods are pasta and pizza, and she listens to New Wave German rap. Her basketball role model is Johannes Thiemann, and her life motto is: “Live while you’re alive.”

The VIMODROM Baskets Jena are thrilled to welcome Lina Lieckfeld, a center who seeks to connect with the guards on the court. Welcome to Jena, Lina.
